The role of a UX designer is to assess and optimise applications (usually web-based) to improve ease of use and create the best user experience by exploring many different approaches to solve end-user problems. They use online tools, such as screen readers, to aid their research. They then refine and tweak the company's apps, software and websites to create products that students and visitors like and find easy to use.

Communication is essential in UX as you will convey product ideas, explain the thinking behind designs, and work with other teams. Your work also requires elements of storytelling.

• Generate ideas through ideation techniques such as brainstorming and worst possible ideas to solve the users’ needs in a way that provides value to the company.
• Conduct usability testing to determine if your design(s) can be further improved;
• Create prototypes and wireframes.
• Prototype designs, which can range from simple paper sketches to high-fidelity and interactive digital mock-ups;
• Interpret data and qualitative feedback from students and users.
• Plan and conduct user research and competitor analysis.
• Push a design solution out that will benefit both the company and our users.
• Analyze and identify pain points from the users’ perspective, based on your user research.
• Identify areas for improvement in the company's apps/websites
